Well I saw New Moon... I have to say I've rarely been so disappointed in a movie.
By far the best thing about it was Jacob's wonderful pecs but frankly I should know better - he's 17 after all... They did NOT make 17-year-olds like that in my day!
It's such a shame - I've been looking forward to this film since last year. I'll still watch the next one but I might wait for the DVD. Perhaps the CGI will look more convincing on a smaller screen?
Anyway to make up for yet another raging teenage crush (Zac Efron, I'm afraid you've been replaced - I'm trading you for a younger model - eeeek!), I'm going to do grown up things this weekend.
I'm having a dinner party and planning my Christmas holidays (the yearly "try-to-please-everyone" dance starts now), oh and probably buying a trench as I am in love with them.
This weather might not be very "November" but it's just right for a lighter coat.
I doubt very much that my budget will stretch to Burberry but perhaps the high-street will turn up a convincing alternative. It certainly can't help to look!!
I can’t say I was surprised to see Jamie go out of X Factor this weekend but I’ve decided that I’d like Olly or Danyl to win overall.
I know this is a terrible thing to say but I also kind of like the twins. They put on a good show and on the radio their voices can be as reverbed and distorted as can be - no-one will know they can't sing. Hey, it works for Cheryl!
Apart from keeping up with reality tele, I’ve just spent a wonderful weekend in Paris with my other half.
My long distance relationship is going extremely well and I am now tired but blissfully happy. Yes, I know, reach for the bucket!
I bought my leather-look leggings too – but thanks to all the croissants I consumed I don’t think I can wear them yet… eeek!
Actually I'm not sure I can ever wear them. Do I honestly have the guts to walk outside - where people can see - in figure hugging leggings of faux-leather. I'd like to think so but I'm not so sure.
It worked for Hayden Panettiere but I should probably avoid comparisons between me and a nineteen year old Hollywood actress.
Ahhhhhhh!! Last night my dreams (almost) came true. Robbie Williams reunited with Take That live on stage. OK, I still have teenage dreams... Even if they were somewhat shattered by Mark Owen's wedding this week.
I'm happy for him really; it's just I genuinely believed he'd marry me - when I was 12 that is! As a matter of fact me and Mr Owen are born the same day - naturally I saw this as a sign.
After the Children in Need show at the Royal Albert Hall, Robbie confirmed that he would be recording a new album with the lads.
It's the news I've been waiting for. There's something loveable about Robbie but I prefer him in small doses - therefore as part of a band he's perfect.
The universe is giving me all the things I want lately - a full TT line up and affordable Jimmy Choos - oh yes.
Tomorrow, H&M will proudly open their doors to a rabble of female customers, ready for their Choo fix. I'll be the first in line.
Remember, remember the 5th of November. Gunpowder, treason and plot...
Bonfire night is one of my favourite British traditions. Yes, it's grizzly in origin and yes it's odd for the UK to celebrate something that is essentially religious extremism - but, whatever, I still love it.
Tonight, I'm trekking out to the countryside (Oxfordshire to be precise!) to celebrate with my family.
Every year they throw a large Guy Fawkes party. My father and younger brother build an enormous fire and provide sticks for the men-folk to prod said fire with - men love that for some reason? They walk around it, chests out, all proud of themselves, acting as if they just invented the flame... it must be instinct or something?
My mother makes vats of hot soup and bowls of delicious sausage and mash. Guests, who aren't preoccupied by poking the fire with large sticks, indulge in cups of pumpkin soup and yummy veggie fare courtesy of mummy Woollcott.
There's usually sparklers, there's always wine, and sometimes there's the odd firework to ohhh and ahhhh at. Not sure it's sensible to mix the three but whatever, it's great fun!
It's also my sister's birthday... I still have no idea what to get her!
Everytime I type the title of my blog I imagine it being said like the beginning of Star Trek - "captain's log, star date 2 Nov 2009'...
Oh God, I can't believe I just admitted that. I am such a geek.
I spent my weekend boldly going where everyone of us has been before - Hangover-ville.
As I get older I get worse and worse at hangovers. I went to not one but three Halloween parties over the weekend - like a trick or treater going door to door. As you know the Pumpkin idea didn't come off so I reverted to type and went as a bad fairy.
It's the one night in the year when I can leave my house in fishnets and a tutu and not feel ridiculous... ok not AS ridiculous.
Anyway just like a trick or treater with his candy spoils I over indulged, somewhat...
Even so, with heroic effort, I went for a run (ha!) on Sunday morning. In all honesty it was more of a stumble than a run. I managed twetnty minutes but it was sheer hell.
I'd hoped that physical exercise would be a kind of miracle cure but I was wrong, oh so wrong...
I retired to the sofa after that. I don't know what I'd do without my sky+.
X Factor upset me again though - I grew up in the same town as Daniel Johnson and it was heart breaking to see him so miserable. I remember him wearing black contact lenses in the days when we all had Gothic pretensions and spent our weekends being miserable teenagers in the parks and pubs.
He's got some serious talent and it's about time someone said something nice about him. Go Daniel Johnson!
The team are backing Olly to win. I have to admit - he was awesome this week.
