New styles, new looks and new shoes...Created on 9 November at 11:33
New styles, new looks and new shoes...
It's all about change in the soFeminine offices right now. We're shedding our summer skins and getting our winter look on!

We need new haircuts like Mrs Beckham. Although we're not sure which one of her do's to take inspiration from.

We're going to get fit by walking like Julie AND buy some of those genius anti-cellulite tights.

In short, winter 2009 is going to be our finest yet. Plus this Saturday the Jimmy Choo collection arrives in H&M and we can't wait to get our hands on that footwear!!

Dressing up, token efforts, Olly Murs and party season...
This week we've discovered women can be divided into four types when it comes to fancy dress:
  • There are those who love to dress up and view fancy dress as a chance to leave the house near naked(!) If you like being gloriously under-dressed and dolled up then at least get some gorgeous undies!

  • There are those who choose to make it a comedy effort (like our editor who ordered a giant pumpkin outfit like the X Factor's Olly Murs - we love him). If this is your bag then you probably go the whole hog with themed food and drink too.

  • There are women who make a token effort and if this is you we recommend a good look through our gothic accessories story even the girls in the next category found something to love in our stylebook!

  • Finally there are women who hate fancy dress and take a bah humbug attitude to the whole thing. There are one or two of these at soFeminine HQ and they're having more fun choosing new hats, scarves and gloves for autumn - not a spider or a skull in sight!
We're a mixed bag here at soFeminine - from those who go all out to those just go as themselves. Whatever our preference of attire we all agree on one thing. Halloween means it's time to get the party started! Roll on November, roll on Christmas...

Fashionista envy, rentable handbags and DIY beauty... Created on 16 October at 11:47
Fashionista envy, rentable handbags and DIY beauty...

We say this every time we write our team blog but it’s still true! We’ve been run off our feet here at soFeminine HQ of late. Fashion week chaos is finally at an end and, although we all love the shows, we’re breathing one huge sigh of relief now the pressure's off.

We were at a bit of a loss at how to keep up with London’s fashionistas until we discovered rentable fashion was here in the UK too. We feel a bit like Carrie in the Sex and the City movie – why didn’t someone tell us before?!

Now that we’ve calmed down from all the spring summer excitement of the shows, the weather has reminded us that it’s most definitely autumn winter in the UK. Brrrr. To cheer ourselves up we’ve been experimenting with this season's beauty trends.

We tried out the black look and let’s just say it’s a good thing that Halloween is almost upon us. We need some more practice to perfect that one…

However, Halloween marks the official start to the party season. The recession maybe on its way out but if we’re renting bags and making DIY facials, we’re not about to ruin our good work with a party dress splurge! Fortunately we found some killer LBDs for under £50. Yay!

London Fashion Week lowdown, how to work the big shoulder trend and expert make-up advice in our Dior Masterclass videos...
Phew - it's been bonkers busy at soFeminine.co.uk lately! First off we have been enjoying the lowdown from London Fashion Week and also checking out the action from New York and Milan on our sister site.

There has also been much talk in the office about the return of the 80s and we've enjoyed the advice from H&M's Ann-Sofie Johansson on how to work the
big shoulder trend as well getting some expert make-up advice in our Dior Masterclass videos.

How to get designer clothes for less, breast enlargement using your own body fat and hair colour trends...
We have been inspired by our money expert Jasmine Birtles who has written a brilliant guide on how to get designer clothes for less - it's essential reading.

We've also been debating the pros and cons of an emerging cosmetic surgery technique which means you can have
breast enlargement using your own body fat- it's recycling taken to extremes!

Hair colour trends have also been a hot topic for us - this season has seen celebs opting for dramatic colour changes but we're not convinced.
